If you are sensitive to low blood pressure, make sure to change positions slowly. Typically this will go away over time as your body gets used to the lowered blood pressure. This is a common early side effect of many medications that lower blood pressure including Azor (amlodipine / olmesartan) and is more likely to happen if you are also taking diuretics (water pills). It might happen when you change posture, such as going from sitting to standing. You could feel dizzy or lightheaded from a drop in your blood pressure. Risk factors: Taking with alcohol | Taking other medications that lower blood pressure | Taking diuretics (water pills) | Heart valve problems (such as aortic stenosis).Seek medical attention immediately if you experience symptoms like chest pain or shortness of breath. Patients with aortic stenosis, where the aortic heart valve is more narrow, are at increased risk of heart attacks while taking Azor (amlodipine / olmesartan). Worsening chest pain or higher risk of heart attack is possible when starting or increasing Azor (amlodipine / olmesartan). Risk factors: History of heart problems | Heart valve problems (aortic stenosis).If you find that you're pregnant, stop taking Azor (amlodipine / olmesartan) right away and talk to your doctor. Azor (amlodipine / olmesartan) can cause birth defects.
